CONSULTATIONS

Referrals

A current referral from your GP or specialist medical practitioner is required to be enable you to claim your rebate back from Medicare. A referral from a GP will be valid for 12 months while a referral from a specialist will only be valid for 3 months.

Please bring all X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans to your consultation as well as any other investigations or reports which are pertinent to your condition. This will help Dr. Lowe to determine your diagnosis and provide you with all appropriate treatment options.

Workcover

Dr. Lowe is happy to accept Workcover referrals for lower limb conditions if a valid Workcover claim number is provided. We will invoice Workcover on your behalf for all consultations and operations. Please note that while Dr. Lowe is happy to do all certificates and paperwork required during the consultation, any certificates that are requested outside of the consultation will incur a $20 fee.

Fees

There is a fee to see Dr Lowe in his rooms. Consultation fees are payable at the end of your consultation (by Cash, EFTPOS, or credit card). The standard fee charged  is a proportion of the Australian Medical Association recommended fee. This means that in most instances there will be a portion of your consultation fee, which will not be covered by Medicare. The rebate from Medicare for eligible patients is $78.05 for the first consultation and $39.25 for each subsequent consultation.

If you are booked for an operation, Dr. Lowe can provide you with an estimate of the out-of-pocket fees following your consultation.
